About the book

Why did she let her friends drag her into these situations?

Mara doesn’t want a date. Especially what amounts to a blind date. But her friends, Brooke and Gemma, decide she’s mourned her husband’s death long enough and haul her to the Valentine’s Day charity bachelor auction, anyway.

Reluctantly, she agrees to one date with the man Brooke bids on for her. K-9 Deputy Carter Townsend. She figures they’ll have a nice dinner and some pleasant, if not stilted, conversation, then go their separate ways.

Except, she doesn’t count on her body and her heart waking up to sing for the first time since Blake’s death.

But a threat from the past comes back to haunt them, threatening the happiness they’ve found. Can Carter uncover and stop the danger before one or both of them end up dead?
